Crystal Meth Production - Red Herring

One of the things we know we'll face is the "But anhydrous ammonia is used to make crystal meth!"

Strictly speaking this is true, but the constraint on production is the availability of the ephedrine required for the process. They've put anything with usable ephedrine in it behind the counter here in Iowa, I believe other states have done the same, and as a result lab finds in Dickinson County have gone from two a month to two a year. I know this because I found one of the two labs located in 2007 in this abandoned caboose near Superior.
