We have a couple of workshop type classes we're developing (as of 3/15/2008). These are meant to be a day, a weekend, or week long sessions addressing adult learners' needs in the various areas associated with local development of stranded renewables. Completed classes are untagged at the top level and do not accept comments, while those under development will be labeled as such and will possibly have discussion attached to pages. You're encouraged to join in commenting on the ones in development and if you've got a comment on one labeled completed please drop the author a note and we'll determine if we need to edit, reopen the area for discussion, etc.
As this is a community project the rules are pretty simple - anyone can use this stuff, incorporate it in larger or smaller works, and so forth ... just as long as you don't try to make off with someone else's efforts and claim it for your own. We suspect we'll find something in the Creative Commons that provides the required openness and protection but no one has thought about this at length yet.
Yes, there are many things missing. Yes, we're glad to get new content developers and instructors. Yes, under some circumstances we'll pay out of an existing grant or write and push a new one through.
We use the Impress application from OpenOffice and those files are available if you need a presentation for use in a classroom environment. You have to specifically ask for them as we're trying to collect user feedback from the field so we can improve upon them. They can be easily converted to Powerpoint presentations, too.
Maybe one day we'll get all fancy with some online learning environment but for right now freely accessible web pages and presentations that run on a free software platform are what is available.
